Deep Purple performed on this day in 1991 at the Tower Theater in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Deep Purple were at this time on their Slaves & Masters tour, undertaken to support the album of the same name. This was the sole album and tour undertaken by the Mark VI lineup, consisting of Ritchie Blackmore, Roger Glover, Ian Paice, Jon Lord, and Joe Lynn Turner. The group’s direction went for a softer, more chart-friendly sound with Mark VI, which has remained divisive among fans to this day. The group were joined at this concert, the concert the day before, and the concert two days afterwards by the American metal band Winger.
This concert is known to have been recorded, and is in circulation online.
This was the second of two concerts the group performed back to back at the Tower Theater in Philadelphia. I talk more about the venue here.
