3 performed on this day in 1988 at the Sundance in Bay Shore, New York.

3 were just embarking on their tour of North America, beginning in the Northeast. This was the fourth date of the tour and the third in New York overall; the band had begun the tour with two dates in Poughkeepsie.
Funnily enough, this appears to be the first concert the band performed in a venue without any age restrictions. Most, if not all, of their appearances seem to be held in small venues; many of those seem to be bars or cabarets. This would have been a massive break from what Keith Emerson had experienced when last on the road with Emerson, Lake & Powell, where the group played large colisea and arenas. Carl Palmer, a member of the band Asia prior to joining 3, also would have been more used to larger performance settings.
There is no known recording of the concert.
Thank you so much for reading. If you appreciate what I do, consider donating on my ko-fi page or becoming a patron on my patreon! I’m planning on upgrading my wordpress plan to a premium one, which would allow me to improve my readers’ experience. Since I’m fairly broke, I would love it if the costs were offset a bit. Thank you!
