Deep Purple performed on this day in 1969 at the Paradiso in Amsterdam, Holland.

The band were at this time on their European Tour, the first major tour undertaken by the Mark II lineup. This tour gave the two new members, Ian Gillan and Roger Glover, a chance to introduce themselves as members of Deep Purple. It also let the band promote their new, harder music style. Emblematic of this is the inclusion of such songs as the newly-written “Child in Time”; the song was released on In Rock the following June.
This concert is known to have been recorded, as the second-oldest extant recording of Deep Purple’s second lineup onstage. I review it here.
