On This Day (August 28)…Even More Difficult to Cure Tokyo

Rainbow performed on this day in 1981 at the Nippon Budokan in Tokyo, Japan.

Rainbow were very near the end of their Difficult to Cure Tour, which had kept them occupied throughout 1981. The band up to this date had performed at least one concert every month between February, when they began the tour with four small club dates. Since then, they had played on three continents on a massive tour which had seen them partner with Krokus, Def Leppard, Pat Travers, and other bands.

This date is the last full concert this lineup performed. Though they had one other concert left on the tour eight days after this one, it was not played in full.

This concert is known to have been recorded, making it the last recording of this lineup. It is in circulation online.
