Emerson, Lake & Palmer performed on this day in 1970 at the Konzerthaus in Vienna, Austria.
ELP were at this time near the end of their Debut Tour, undertaken to introduce themselves to the European record-buying public. While the group predominantly performed in the United Kingdom, they also performed a few concerts in West Germany, Austria and Switzerland. This was their first-ever performance in the country.
This concert was known to have been recorded, and is in circulation online.
This was ELP’s first time at the Vienna Konzerthaus. The group performed here a total of four times in their history, including one stop during the Tarkus Tour and two during the Get Me a Ladder Tour. I talk more about the venue here.
