Emerson, Lake & Palmer performed at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, New York on this day in 1978.

ELP’s Works Tour, undertaken in the winter months of 1978, often dealt with serious weather issues. It’s worth noting here that as I’ve shared my stories on the dates, many audience members who were attending these concerts have noted delays due to winter weather. Others have shared that snow began falling on the way in or out of the show. Perhaps at times like these, the group was grateful that they had scaled down for this leg of the tour! Moving an orchestra in poor weather would have doubtless driven up costs, delayed concerts, and generally would have been a pain.
Generally, the setlist would have been the same on each night, and can be compared to recordings from concerts recorded around this time.
Unlike the previous day’s Nassau Coliseum performance, which eventually was released as a live album, there is no known recording of this concert.
I talk more about the venue at which this concert was performed, the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum, here.
Thank you so much for reading. If you appreciate what I do, consider donating on my ko-fi page or becoming a patron on my patreon! I’m planning on upgrading my wordpress plan to a premium one, which would allow me to improve my readers’ experience. Since I’m fairly broke, I would love it if the costs were offset a bit. Thank you!
