ELP were at this time on their Brain Salad Surgery, undertaken to support the album of the same name. The group were in the southwest region, slowly moving eastward.
There is conflicting reporting as to whether this concert took place on this day or on February 23rd, the day before. Either way, I have found no ticket, poster or recording with which to verify the date.
