ELP were at this time on their Brain Salad Surgery Tour, undertaken to support the album of the same name. They were at this time in the Southwestern United States. On later tours, notably on their Works Tour and on spinoff band Emerson, Lake & Powell’s sole tour, this region often featured very small audiences.
There is no known recording of this particular concert.
