Emerson, Lake & Palmer performed on this day at the State University of New York (SUNY) at Plattsburgh, New York.

Emerson, Lake & Palmer were at this point continuing on their Works Tour, having performed thus far on every night in February across North America. They had crossed the border from Canada four days prior, and would remain in the United States until the conclusion of their tour. They had performed at many colleges and universities by this point, a fact which makes me a little envious. No disrespect intended towards Wacka Flocka, one of the bigger names to perform at my school.
The setlist from setlist.fm includes several “unknown” numbers, and in general seems incomplete. While it is definitely possible the group abridged their setlist for a college audience, as other setlists from college gigs seem to suggest, it’s also plausible that the group played the full setlist and that setlist.fm is simply presenting incomplete information. It would not be the first time.
No recording of this concert is known to exist. For what it’s worth, only one of the college gigs I have thus far covered on this tour has been recorded. I’d love to crunch the numbers at some point on the comparison to the rate of college gigs being recorded to the rate of non-college gigs being recorded…
