Deep Purple performed on this day in 1970 at the University of Reading in Reading, England.
This was the third date Deep Purple undertook in 1970, after an engagement in France and a charity concert in Worthing. It was a part of the Deep Purple European Tour, the first tour undertaken by Mark II, which had begun on July 10 of the previous year and had been going fairly steadily since.
This concert is not known to have been recorded.
The university at which the band performed is the University of Reading, which is still in operation today. This was the first time the band had performed in the city of Reading.
