Emerson, Lake & Palmer’s final album of the 70s, Love Beach, was certified gold on this day in 1979.
RIAA gold certification is achieved when 500,000 copies of an album are sold. The album had been released on November 18 of the previous year, 68 days prior to its certification. It seems that despite its poor reputation and off-putting cover, Love Beach was still desired by fans at the time of its release.
