The guitarist Randy Rhoads died on this day in 1982 in a freak plane accident. He was twenty-five years old.

Those who worked with Rhoads praised his musical ability and technical prowess. While his career was woefully short, he thankfully left a great many songs for future generations to enjoy. One of the most legendary is probably “Mr. Crowley”, on which he provides the guitar solo. There are also several recordings of shows he participated in, which can provide a small window on his abilities.
Thank you for your music, Mr. Rhoads!
