Deep Purple performed on this day in 2002 at Meteor Sport Hall in Dnipro, Ukraine.

Don Airey was a brand new recruit to the band at this time. While he had temporarily filled in for Jon Lord the last summer, this short tour through Eastern Europe was Airey’s first as an official member. This concert was the first of two dates they performed that year in Ukraine.
The band performed a mix of classic songs and some more unusual cuts, including “The Aviator” and “Fools”. The song “The Well-Dressed Guitar”, which would soon become a live standard for Deep Purple, was at the time quite new.
This concert is known to have been recorded, and is in circulation online. It was also filmed.
