Rainbow were at this time on the first leg of their Difficult to Cure Tour, which would last throughout 1981. For these dates, they co-headlined with Canadian guitarist Pat Travers. This tour was the introduction for many rock ‘n roll fans to Joe Lynn Turner and Bobby Rondinelli, who were brought from relative obscurity into the Deep Purple music family with the album Difficult to Cure and this tour. Both would continue on with Rainbow until it went on hiatus in March of 1984.

This particular night also saw the introduction of a new support act, Lightning. 4 out of 5 Doctors, the support band who had been with Travers and Rainbow for a few dates prior, had played their last show with the tour on March 27. It appears that Rainbow did not play on that night, however, as they are not listed on the ticket.

There is no known recording of this concert.
