Rainbow were at this time on their Down to Earth Tour, undertaken to support the album of the same name. The quintet were about ready to wrap up the English leg of the tour. After they completed it, they would not perform in Europe until August of that year. In the intervening time, they also performed a short leg of the tour in Japan.
