On This Day (March 9)…Works Last Recorded

Emerson, Lake & Palmer performed on this day at the Omni in Atlanta, Georgia.

ELP’s Works Tour provided a unique look at the band in an underrated time of their history. On one hand, they performed with an orchestra early in their tour. Later on, they were once again reduced to a three-piece. Greg Lake later would say that he preferred it that way, not needing to coordinate with a conductor!

This concert is known to have been recorded and is in circulation online. As of this writing, it is the last concert of this tour known to have been recorded.

I talk more about the Omni, the location at which the group performed, here.

Thank you so much for reading. If you appreciate what I do, consider donating on my ko-fi page or becoming a patron on my patreon! I’m planning on upgrading my wordpress plan to a premium one, which would allow me to improve my readers’ experience. Since I’m fairly broke, I would love it if the costs were offset a bit. Thank you!
