On This Day (May 8)…Happy Birthday, Candice Night!

The singer Candice Night was born on this day in 1971.

As a child into her teenage years, Night worked as a model while taking vocal and piano lessons. Her fascination with music also led her to working at a New York radio station for a while when she was eighteen. However, she is best known not as a DJ or as a model, but as half of the creative duo behind the medieval/renaissance-influenced folk rock outfit Blackmore’s Night. She has also had a solo singing career, as well as a few guest spots with rock projects. Night has even participated in Rainbow as a backing vocalist, making her only one of two official female members over the years.

We wish Ms. Night a very happy birthday here at Gotta Hear ’em All!
