Deep Purple performed on this day in 1970 at Stadhalle Offenbach in Offenbach am Main, Germany.

This concert came as part of the In Rock World Tour, undertaken to support the album of the same name. The tour ran into some trouble immediately preceding this concert, with the group being forced to cancel three shows the previous week due to Jon Lord’s back pain. I get into more detail here.
As the concert was supporting their most recent album, the setlist largely consisted of songs from that album. The Mark II lineup had still written relatively little together, however, and so still padded out their setlist with covers and “Mandrake Root” from Mark I.
The concert has been partially recorded and has not been unofficially released. It is in circulation online.
I have talked about the venue they performed at, Stadhalle Offenbach, in greater detail here.
