On This Day (October 17)…Glasgow Has a Tangerine Dream

Tangerine Dream performed on this day in 1975 at Glasgow City Hall in Glasgow, Scotland.

The group were at this time on their 1975 UK Tour, which saw them perform just over a dozen dates throughout October. Their final gig on the tour, which took place at Fairfield Hall, inspired their semi-live album Ricochet. Other parts of the tour were recorded by fans, leaving present-day listeners with a wealth of material on this tour. Every concert was improvised by Tangerine Dream, which at the time consisted of Edgar Froese, Christopher Franke, and Peter Baumann.

This was the first and only on the tour in Scotland. All other dates on the tour were performed in England.

This concert is known to have been recorded. It was released as part of the Tangerine Tree fan project.
