Yes performed on this day in 1978 at Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York.

Yes were at this time on their Tormato Tour, performing in support of the album of the same name. This concert came so early in the tour that the album had not yet been released; it would hit the shelves later in the month. This was their second of three consecutive dates at Madison Square Garden.
At least one song from every album the band had released up to this point appeared on the setlist. Five of Tormato’s eight tracks appeared: “Future Times/Rejoice”, “Circus of Heaven”, “Don’t Kill the Whale”, “Madrigal”, and “On the Silent Wings of Freedom”. Fragile was the second-most represented album with four tracks: “Long Distance Runaround”, “The Fish”, “Heart of the Sunrise”, and “Roundabout”.
Reviews from the concert were quite positive, particularly noting the enthusiasm put in by the band.
This concert was recorded in full. It is in circulation online.

Madison Square Garden is one of New York City’s most legendary venues. I talk more about it and some of its concerts here.
